Buddha statue stolen from De Bergen

A Buddha statue has been stolen from a public garden in De Bergen, close to Eindhoven’s city centre.

A local resident placed the statue in the garden a few months ago. ‘It brings good luck,’ she says. She describes it as being about 1.2 metres tall and 1 metre wide. She wants the statue to be returned to the garden.

The woman wants to send a warning to the thief, because stealing a Buddha brings misfortune. ‘I want to warn the thief, because bad luck is coming their way. You really should not steal a Buddha,’ she says. She bought the statue because she ‘thought the garden could use some luck’.

The statue is not exactly sacred, though. The woman bought it from Xenos.
