She clocked in at 51.51. The Eindhoven swimmer was seconds faster than Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjöström, who set a time of 51.56.
Femke Heemskerk finished third: at 51.92. Earlier, she was the fastest in the 200-meter freestyle. She won a direct battle with Sjöström, who finished second.
