Regional businesses invest the most in research

The business community in the Eindhoven region invests the most in research and development. Investments in the Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht regions remain behind, according to ING figures.

Companies in the high-tech Brainport region set aside their own money for research and innovation. It is about 5.5 percent of the total regional economy. The other regions do not go beyond 1.5 percent. In the Amsterdam area, it is not even 1 percent.

Previously, ING figures show that Eindhoven is the fastest growing region of the country. The SER pointed out the turbulent growth of the regional economy as well this year.
