Van Bommel to be PSV-juniors trainer

From next season, Mark van Bommel is the PSV u/19’s trainer. This will be the first time the former international player will in charge of his own team.

Van Bommel sees coaching the junior PSV players as a good start to his coaching career. ‘I don’t want to start on the paid football level as I have not yet been responsible for my own team. That is why I am beginning with the best possible junior team. Here, I will try to convey my own idea of football,” he says.

At the moment, Van Bommel is a speciality trainer at PSV. He is also Van Marwijk’s assistant in Saudi Arabia.

Van Bommel was a part of the PSV team for many years. He took part in multiple championships with the Eindhoven club and, along with PSV, reached the semi-final of the 2005 Champions League. He also played for FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
