Streets full of Santas in sneakers? That’s what you’ll find on the 18th December in the city centre for Eindhoven’s Santa Run.
In its second year, this night time fun run is open to anyone who wants to have some fun, get a bit of exercise and support a great cause – the Eindhoven Food Bank.
As many of us sit down to hot meals and gifts under the Christmas tree, there are others who can’t afford such luxuries, and that’s where charities, such as the Food Bank, step in. The organizers of the Santa Run have once again decided to support this cause as they believe that everyone deserves a cozy Christmas. Runners can make a financial contribution to the Food Bank when they register, and there will be a booth near the starting line where food items can be donated.
Catharinaplein is where all the action begins. At 21:30h you will find over 1000 recreational runners, decked out in Santa outfits, warming up for a 2, 4 or 6 kilometer jog through the city. There will be plenty of Christmas music to get you in the swing of things, and the streets will be decorated to light up that festive feeling along the way.
All runners will receive a start number, a Santa outfit – complete with hat and beard, and a finisher’s medal.
If this is your idea of Christmas cheer, register (in Dutch) here.
Or email info@santaruneindhoven.nl if you’d like some help with your registration in English.

I’m Lenise and I’ll be writing regular articles for Eindhoven News on Sport and Exercise in Eindhoven. My go to exercise is running, because I can do it anytime, anywhere, and in any climate, but I am also a fan of bootcamp and Pilates. Sport has always played a huge part in my life and having lived in a number of countries, I think it’s the best way to get to know some locals, get rid of the occasional stress of living abroad and to feel fantastic – physically and mentally!
