There was a fatal accident on Wednesday morning at a construction site near Partituurlaan in the Eindhoven suburb of Tongelre.
An excavator on a construction site collapsed. As a result, the man who was sitting on the machine was entirely trapped between a wall of construction bricks.
Other construction workers were taken care of by ambulance and police.
The police, ambulance, and Fire Brigade arrived quickly. A trauma helicopter was also called. But it was no use. The trapped man died instantly. According to a local resident, it was difficult for emergency services to reach the accident site.
The Labour Inspectorate has started an investigation into the accident.
