A cyclist was shot out of the blue at around 16:00 on Saturday. The incident happened at the Wolvendijk in Eindhoven while the man was cycling to Nuenen.
According to police reports, for now, it seems to be a random victim. The man got hit in the leg and was taken to the hospital. After being treated, he was allowed to go home.
It is still unclear what kind of weapon was used and from where the shot was fired. The police, therefore, appealed via Twitter for witnesses to contact them.
Later reports say that the shooting victim appears to be a 50-year-old man from Nuenen. During searches on the Wolvendijk and in the surrounding area, the police found several fireman projectiles. The police initially assumed that an air rifle had been fired.
Further investigation into the shooting incident will be continued.
