Sunday first official tropical day in Eindhoven

On Sunday, 2 June, it was officially the first tropical day in Eindhoven. At 14:00, Eindhoven reached a temperature of 31°C.

In many places in the country, it was the warmest 2 June since 1901. In Eindhoven, the previous record dates from 2008 when it was 29.2 degrees. On Sunday, at 12:30, it was 28.9°C in the city. Later in the day, Eindhoven reached 31 degrees. Never before has the temperature risen so high on 2 June.

When the temperature rises to more than 30 degrees, one can officially speak of a local tropical day, according to the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute.
