Not only the winner of last year at the Eindhoven marathon Festus Talam was signed, but now the runner up: Marius Kipserem as well.
Kipserem had his most successful year in 2016. In April, he won the NN Marathon Rotterdam in a personal record (2:06:11). In the autumn, the runner from Kenya won second place in Eindhoven, just behind his biggest competitor Talam.
The 29-year-old Kipserem says he’s glad to be back in Eindhoven. His goal is to take the next step and run a new personal record.
The Marathon Eindhoven will be held over a period of two days for the first time. The popular 10-km run will already be done the night before. And there’s also a new element: the ‘5KM4ALL’. In it, the participants do not traverse the course running, but in an alternative way.
On Sunday, October 8, just during the day, the other elements will take place. A total of over 25,000 participants are expected at the biggest sporting event in South Netherlands.
