Children’s medal for Emily (11) from Veldhoven

The eleven-year-old Emily, from Veldhoven, received a special award on Thursday – the “Uitblinker”, a kind of children’s award. Last month Emily saved a toddler from drowning in a swimming pool.

It was a real act of heroism, according to the acting-mayor of Veldhoven. She surprised Emily at school with the “Uitblinker”. Emily was, naturally, honoured to receive this award. She celebrated her achievement with her class.
