The u/14 rugby team of the Eindhoven Rugby Club were crowned champions on Saturday at the National Championships (NK) in Amsterdam. They beat ARC from Amstelveen, convincingly, with a score of 47-10.
The u/16 team also won a lower league championship game in the previous week
The Plate Final class is comparable to the football first division. A modest celebration was held at the club on Saturday. Players received medals and a silver Champions Plate.
Seven team members between the ages of 12 and 14 need to be in top form on Saturday for the Sevens-NK in Castricum.
Eindhoven Rugby Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs, but has only had it’s own full complement junior division for two years. Before that teams had to be combined with other teams from South East Brabant and North Limburg.
