Ranomi Kromowidjojo has ensured herself a place at the World Championships in Budapest in the 50m butterfly during the Eindhoven Swim Cup. Last month in Den Haag she also placed for the 50m and 100m freestyle.
Kromowidjojo tapped the wall first in the final with a time of 25.85 seconds. With this time she was well under the World Championship limit of 26.33 seconds.
PSV swimmer Maaike de Waard also qualified for the World Championships in Budapest in the 50m butterfly. She finished just behind Kromowidjojo in the final with a time of 25.88 seconds.
The Swim Cup in Eindhoven is an important qualification tournament for the Swimming World Championships in Budapest. The tournament began on Thursday and runs until Sunday.
