VDL has cinched a large order. The Eindhoven-based group will supply 200 energy-efficient buses to the Belgian bus company, De Lijn.

These are hybrid buses, but according to VDL, they are primarily electrically powered. “With full batteries, the buses can travel long distances using only electrical power”, the company writes. As a result, the buses emit little CO2, and they are quiet.

De Lijn provides bus transport in various regions of Flanders. VDL regularly supplies so-called Citeas to the Belgian company. From the second half of next year, The 200 new buses will be on the road from the second half of next year.
