Today’s TU/e students are learning everything about birth control during the intro week. A so-called ‘contraceptive camper’ is placed on the university campus.

In the camper you can see everything about birth control over the years. From ancient Egyptian customs, such as a mixture of honey and acacia spines or a pig’s bladder as a condom, to contemporary methods. Of course, the Rutgers Foundation, which supplies the materials, hopes that the young people will especially learn something of contemporary methods. Nurses are present to answer questions and condoms are handed out.

The ‘Contraceptive Camper’ will go on tour today through Dutch universities, colleges and MBOs.
