Extraordinary addition to zoo

The BestZoo received a special, early Christmas gift. On 9 December, a black jaguar cub was born at this zoo in Best.

These types of predators are rare, making this is an extraordinary event. Although the cub was born more than two weeks ago, the Zoo only announced its arrival yesterday.

According to zoo officlals, Mom, Maya, and her baby are doing well. Maya is also a black jaguar. They are being kept inside, where it is nice and warm, and they can get enough rest, for now.

The zoo will announce when the cub will be allowed outside. It is not yet clear whether the cub is a boy or a girl. It also has not yet been named.

More babies

This is not the only new addition to the zoo’s animal population. A Zebu calf has been born. A Zebu is a species of domestic cattle originating in South Asia. Cow and calf are doing well.

The resident black swan pair also added some cygnets to their family. These baby swans are already fully active outside, according to the zoo’s website. Mom and Dad are still very vigilant and are keeping a close eye on their offspring.
