Waste processor Van Gansewinkel is Renewi

The Eindhoven waste processor Van Gansewinkel and British Shanks merged together as Renewi. The two companies together will become Europe’s largest waste processor. The new name is also used on the London Stock Exchange starting tomorrow.

The new name also includes a new logo and new colors. It is not yet clear what this will mean for all blue-white garbage trucks driving around in Eindhoven.

Renewi says it will recycle 1.2 million tonnes of glass, 552,000 tonnes of paper and 1.8 million tonnes of debris and demolition waste per year. Therefore, 2.88 million tonnes of CO2 will be recovered.

Van Gansewinkel and Shanks have around eight thousand employees. Renewi operates in nine countries in Europe and North America.
