The construction of the new PSV supporters café will go ahead, the courts have decided. The café “De Aftrap” will move from the front of the Ventose to the back.
The judge’s ruling is clear: the supporters base is coming. He has, however, imposed a number of conditions. The taps on the terras must be gone before the end of home games. Additionally, de Aftrap can stay open until 2am on home game days, but on Sundays it must close at 11pm. On non match days, the pub must close by 11pm at the latest.
The Ventose Residents Association was particularly concerned about their parking spaces. During match days, PSV supporters flock to the parking spaces that are intended for residents. The judge stated that alternative parking should be found for the residents on match days.
The decision is now in the hands of the city council. The case was taken initially taken to court by the residents who were afraid of problems from supporters.
