Heuvel transformation complete

After more than 18 months and 170,000 man-hours, refurbishment of De Heuvel is complete.

More than 20 years after its opening in 1992, the renovations have given the shopping centre a lighter, more spacious feel. More floor space is now available for larger stores such as TK Maxx and H&M.

The entrance hall on the Catharinaplein side was given a thorough overhaul, complete with a solid floor that used 500,000kg of concrete.

A new passageway now connects the basement to the parking garage, and lights hanging from the ceiling will form part of this year’s GLOW.

The new centre will be open to the public from Thursday.
