Strange people, those artists. Especially if they take themselves seriously. And then they are the perfect subject for New Zealand acrobat, clown and comedian Thom Monckton. With irony and precision, he fills the manners, vanities and neuroses of his artistic fellow man.

In his new show The Artist, we see him as a painter in his studio. Waiting for inspiration for art with a big A, and at the same time gratefully distracted by… well just about everything. In a tightly choreographed performance, the divine spark of inspiration quickly develops into a blazing fire and the colors blaze all around.
