Area 51 , situated in Klokgebouw 51, will be renovated.
The skate park at Klokgebouw 51 has received four million Euro from Regio Deal Brainport. It intends to partly use this money to upgrade the building. “We want to improve the facilities for the urban culture that is located in our building,” says Pim van den Bos of Area 51.
Area 51 consists of two parks which have been merged. One is already 12 years old; the other one seven. Apart from a few small innovations, little has changed in recent years. “We want to make it a beautiful unity, with a new shared entrance. We are also going to build outdoor facilities and renovate the canteen,” says Van den Bos.
There is no starting date yet, but the renovation of the building should be completed by the end of next year.
