The pedestrian bridge which spans Torenallee in Strijp-S has been decorated with a lighting artwork by Motion Paintings.
The footbridge used to be red but was painted black recently. The reason for this was the installation of a lighting work of art by the Motion Paintings collective from Amsterdam.
During the day the art on the bridge is a colourful painting, but at night the lighting really makes the design come to life.
The art collective, Motion Paintings, makes lighting works of art. They apply different forms to a surface and then light them up with different colours. This creates the illusion of movement.
An abstract design was made especially for this pedestrian bridge because it fits the shape of the bridge. It is the first permanent work of art for the artists.
