Bjorn van der Doelen kicked off the National Reading Days on Wednesday at De Trinoom primary school.
The singer-songwriter read ‘Ssst! The tiger sleeps’ to the preschoolers.
During the fifteenth edition of the National Reading Days readers both famous and unknown visit nurseries, daycare centers, primary schools and public libraries across the country, with the aim of encouraging children to read more.
On 28 January, Madelief puppet theatre will bring the story to life at Eindhoven’s library. On 31 January writer Marjolein Vrijenhoek will create a new story together with pupils from The Wilakkers primary school in Stratum. The story, complete with illustrations by the pupils, will be published as a booklet.
The National Reading Days end on 3 February.
