Career Comeback event with free childcare facility

If you have a career break and want to restart, or you want to venture out as an entrepreneur but not sure from where to begin, you can join the career comeback event on 21st of September 2018.

In this career event, they will share with you the information on how to reinvent yourself in the workforce after time out of it. The event will be from 9.30-12.00 at Korein Kinderplein at Waterlinie, Meerhoven. It has a free childcare facility provided by Korein Kinderplein.

Many of us have been on an extended career break, almost always due to relocation, childcare, health issues or eldercare and have been wanting to make a career comeback but find it tough to get back out there.

As the global statistics say, 93% of women on a career break want to return to work, but 63% say they face many barriers such as low confidence, career obsolescence and most importantly not sure of when and how to take that leap into the professional world. Just imagine about the huge potential of these highly skilled, educated expat spouses with global exposure and great adaptability waiting to be plugged back in professionally.

Most of the expat spouses worry about how to talk about career gap or how to cope with the latest hiring trends, competing against candidates with current experience, and how to prepare the professional profile for the job interview. If these are some things that have been holding you back from making a comeback, rest assured you’re not alone.

Some highlights during the Career Comeback Event:

  • Career Comeback Session: “How to Re-Start in the Dutch Labour Market”-  About the practical information and resources to help you get back to work confidently and efficiently.

  • Korein Kinderplein Session: “Dutch Education and Childcare system”- information on various stages of settling into the playschool environment which is called the Wen-process in the Dutch and Dutch education system for school going students. The session will also include information about Tax & child care benefit.

  • Panel Discussion: “How to get back to work while caring for kids”- A panel discussion and featuring parent returnees who have been on a career break and have successfully returned to the workforce.

Over the years Expat Spouses Initiative has been driving and joining the forces to support and connect the expat spouses to local opportunities. ESI, knows that returning to work after a career break can be a daunting prospect but it doesn’t have to be. Today there are many ways for you to return to the workforce, pursue your career aspirations, and still be there for your family.

The secret to making a successful comeback is taking action- just remember it is a Marathon, not a Sprint. Here you can find more information on the event.
