Lidl in ‘t Karregat vying for ‘most beautiful supermarket’ title

The Lidl in shopping center ‘t Karregat in Eindhoven is in the race for the title ‘most beautiful supermarket in the Netherlands’.

There were nineteen entries. Out of these, the jury has chosen only five finalists.

The real estate platform Supermarkt en Ruimte created the prize. It aims to draw attention to architecture and design in the supermarket sector.

After years of renovation work, the renovation of ‘t Karregat completed this year. The Lidl opened its doors again. The shopping complex is of monumental value.

The other contenders for the title are as follows:

A Vomar branch in IJmuiden, a Hoogvliet-supermarket in Arnhem, the DekaMarkt in Santpoort and the Lidl in Leiderdorp.
