The 10,000th birth was registered at the Maxima Medisch Centrum (Maxima Medical Centre, MMC) in Veldhoven on Monday.
That happened at the Vrouw Moeder Kind-centrum (Woman Mother Child Centre). Mayor Marcel Delhez handed baby Hussein Mohamad’s parents a bunch of flowers in celebration of achieving this milestone.
Since 2013, the Veldhoven Municipality and the hospital have been offering parents the opportunity to register their baby’s birth in the maternity suite. In this way, it is also possible for the mother to be present at the registration. Parents no longer have to go to the town hall.
On average, there are 2,650 birth declarations per year at that Council’s registry office. Approximately 1,650 of these are done at the MMC.
