Police officer immediately suspended after ‘serious breach of duty’

A 61-year-old police officer from the East Brabant police force was immediately suspended on Thursday after a ‘serious breach of duty’.

The officer was denied access to all police buildings and ordered to hand in his resources.

What exactly is meant by this breach of duty was not been disclosed by the police. The police professional code, which all officers much abide by, states that an officer must ensure that their behaviour both on and off duty does not harm the image of the police.

This comes after another East Brabant police officer was suspended in April, again due to a serious breach of duty.
