Bravoflex expansion postponed

In Eindhoven, the expansion of the public transport buses on order, Bravoflex, has provisionally been postponed.

The reason is that too few travellers make use of it, the ED reports. Until now, 20 to 25 travellers in Eindhoven, Waalre, and Veldhoven, are reserving a Braxoflex minibus every day. That is far less than the province and bus company Hermes had hoped.

There are already plans to roll out the service even further. Those plans have been put on hold for the time being. In Helmond, there are talks on the continuation of the trial. The test will only be extended if the Municipality and the province reserve additional funds.

Bravoflex

Bravoflex travellers can book minibuses via an app. These pick up people at a chosen stop and also drops the passengers at another selected bus stop. The regional transport company, Hermes, wants to make public transport more accessible. Also, it would be an alternative to little-used city lines.

Eindhoven politicians have been critical of Bravoflex for some time. These include several political parties that find this service to be unfair competition for the taxi industry. Ultimately, Eindhoven will not make the decision – the provincial government is responsible for public transport.
