Eindhoven based designer Simone Post has won this year’s Design Prize. The award is sponsored by the Prins Bernhard Culture Fond of North Brabant.

Post strives to make sustainable designs. According to the judging panel, this played a large part in their decision to crown her the winner. ‘Recycling is nothing new, but the large scale way in which Simone Post handles this, and the technology with which she does so, certainly is,’ they said.

On 20th October 2019, during Dutch Design Week, Post will receive her award, along with 10,000 euros.

As well as being a textile product designer, Post is also the co-founder of Envisions. Envisions is a collaborative project between twenty Eindhoven based designers who conduct experimental research into the field of design. With their research, they try to provoke the design industry into dealing with recycling in a different way.
