Arbor Day canceled due to heady weather forecast

The planting of 250 trees tomorrow for the annual Boomfeestdag (Arbor Day), is canceled. The event will be canceled due to the expected weather conditions.

Alderman Jan van der Meer was going to plant a total of 250 lime trees with pupils of the Floralaan primary school. That was an initiative of the school’s nature committee. But it is expected that the weather conditions will not allow the planting. So the event has been canceled. A different date is being searched for.

Boomfeestdag is an annual event. The idea is to have every primary school student plant a tree at least once in his or her school career.
