DAF has had a good year. The Eindhoven-based truck manufacturer made a record turnover of EUR5,6 billion in 2018. That is ten percent more than in 2017.
Their profit also grew considerably, with EUR150 million. In the end, this profit came to nearly half a billion euros.
According to DAF, these good results are due to high production and sales. There was plenty of demand for heavy trucks in Europe. The Eindhoven-based group also delivered more trucks in the medium-duty segment. “In the past year we benefited from a growing economy and a strong demand for trucks,” CEO, Harry Wolters, said.
On average, DAF employed a total of nearly 9,400 full-time staff in 2018. That is almost a thousand more than in 2017.
