The Jan Linders’ supermarket chain opens the doors of a new shop in the Eindhoven area of Achtse Barrier today (Wednesday).
The branch on Ardèchelaan was recently bought from EMTÉ. The acquisition is an agreement between Jumbo supermarkets, of which the EMTÉ is part, and Jan Linders supermarkets.
The acquisition resulted from a decision of the ACM or Authoriteit Consument Markt (Consumer Market Authority). According to the ACM, the Jumbo supermarket chain, which took over several smaller supermarkets in recent years, would have too many stores in one area. This would create an unfair market position. The ACM approved the acquisition by Jan Linders.
According to Jan Linders, extra attention is paid to regional products from the south of the country in its establishment in Achtse Barrier. The chain has about 60 supermarkets in the Netherlands.
