PSV Supporters Café closed after shooting incident

Stadioncafé De Aftrap will remain closed until 8 January. This temporary closure is as a result of the shooting that occurred there on Saturday evening.

The manager of the café agreed with the City Council that this is the best course of action. A 23-year-old man from Eindhoven was shot in the leg at the start of the PSV-AZ game. No-one has been arrested for this shooting.

Although no-one else was shot, a 46-year-old man, also from Eindhoven, was assaulted. He sustained a head injury in front of the same café in Vonderweg.
For the time being, the Municipality sees no reason to force the Supporters café to close. De Aftrap will, however, be closed until 8 January. On advice from the police at the time and after the manager was questioned, it will be determined by the Council whether steps will be taken against the café.
A large crowd of fans always watch PSV matches at De Aftrap. This Eindhoven club’s next game is on 20 January.
