Eindhoven Kemphanen beat The Hague

Eindhoven ice-hockey team “Kemphanen” won their match against The Hague’s Hijs Hokij, Saturday evening. “Kemphanen” beat the The hague team with a resounding 8-0 score.

The match was decided very quickly. After two periods, the score on the board showed already 4-0. Kluijtmans, Veres and van den Hout were responsible.

The third period, Veres and Beeren scored: 8-0. This result ensures “Kemphanen” are now third in the first division. Dordrecht Lions are second, while GIJS Groningen leads.

Club name

Wonder about the team’s name? The Dutch term “kemphaan” (plural “kemphanen”) is used figuratively to refer to a fighter. It is also the name of a bird.
