Eindhoven’s Dutch Design Week (DDW) continuous to increase its success. Over 355,000 people visited the Dutch City of Lights specifically for this annual event.
DDW’s 17th edition had a specific theme: “If not us, then who?” This referred and was a tribute to designers. This year, at least 2,600 designers participated; both international and national ones.
“With 355,000 visitors, Dutch Design Week 2018 was an incredible success,” said DDW director Martijn Paulen.
Last year, there were 335,000 visitors. So the event saw a growth of 6 percent compared to 2017.
“What struck me most, was the increase in foreign visitors. No less than 21 percent. A clear sign, that our reputation and the quality offered have reached international renown. I really hope this development will offer fruitful opportunities for all participating designers”, stated Paulen.
