Coming Sunday is the Meerhoven24 relay running event. Team Eindhoven in Motion is made up of 12 international women living in and around Eindhoven. You can help them raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation.
As Alka Sharma declares: “At some point, we, for some reason, thought this sounded like a fun thing to do, so we registered ourselves. We are the only international team so come along and give us some support if you can.”
Meerhoven24 is a 24hour relay running event including a festival happening in Meerhoven (Eindhoven). It takes place yearly since 2010. The event raises funds for Make a Wish Nederland which is a charity helping wishes & dreams come true for children and young people age 3-18 who suffer from life-threatening illnesses.
There are 24 teams taking part in the main run. The 12 members of each team take turns to run the 2.1km track continuously over the 24 hours.
There is a lot of entertainment going on around the race track this weekend. A stage with music and other performances, an international food court, a 70s/80s disco and a whole program of kids activities.
There are also races to run even if you are not part of one of the 24 teams. You can choose to run 5, 10 or 15km or get all LED’d up and run at night. Kids races are also planned. There more international kids are participating. Proceeds from all the additional activities also go to the Make a Wish charity.
For those who would like to make a financial contribution, you can donate the expat Eindhoven in Motion team here or on the Meerhoven24 page. (You can mention the Eindhoven in Motion team to address the donation to this team).

The opening is on Saturday 8 September at 11:30h and the event finishes on Sunday 9th at 15:00h.
