French air traffic controllers are on strike and that had consequences for travelers from Eindhoven Airport on Tuesday.
Five flights from Ryanair were canceled. Flights that cross French airspace, for example to Marrakesh, Lisbon, Ibiza and Malaga.
The atmosphere at the airport is reasonably calm, except for a few disappointed or angry passengers. A Belgian is worried, because he only found out at the airport that his flight had been canceled. He was busy making gestures, demanding a compensation from his tour operator.
Understanding
Travelers generally have an understanding. ‘An hour and a half is still manageable’, says a passenger. Another adds: ‘Ah well, it’s vacation.’
Wednesday morning at 6 am the strikes are over. Then all flights must leave again according to schedule.
