Next weekend about 1 300 sports players from all over The Netherlands will gather in Eindhoven for the Groot Nederlands Studenten Kampioenschap (Great Dutch Student Championships). From 9 to 11 June the “Olympic Games” for Dutch student cities will be hosted here. There will be 18 different sports featured.
The winners of this event will be able to call themselves the ‘best student sports city of the Netherlands’ for the next year. However, there is even more to gain for participating teams. The winner of each sport may crown themselves the Dutch Student Champion. They will then get the opportunity to represent The Netherlands at the European Student Championships.
Most matches will be played on Saturday, 10 June, with the finals being played on Sunday. All matches are free to watch. Aside of the matches, there will also be extra activities, like clinics, available to all players and visitors.
In the evenings there will be parties in de Markthal at the TU/e campus. On Friday there will be a private party for all participants and volunteers. During this party, Tech United will give a live demo of their robot soccer team. The party on Saturday will be open to all students, free of charge.
