There is no place for headscarves during the Lichtjesroute. In fact, everything that has to do with Islam does not belong at the Lichtjesroute. That is what the LPF (right wing party) said in response to reports of Studio040. The political party has submitted the council questions about this.
The foundation OVAA (to promote cultural diversity in Eindhoven) had requested the organization of the Lichtjesroute in an open letter if there is any room for more diversity at the Lichtjesroute, in the broadest sense of the word. For example, by adding ornaments of gay couples, disabled people, or women with a head scarve. The organization of the Lichtjesroute did not respond unsympathetic to this request.
But the LPF thinks it is inappropriate. The political party wants particular attention for ornaments that have something to do with the liberation of Eindhoven on September 18, 1944.
