After an inspection by officials from the municipality, the police and the electricity supplier, electricity fraud was detected in two properties in Tongelre and Stratum yesterday.
The meter seals appeared to have been been tampered with and electricity had been tapped illegally. It is hard to quantify the damage, but it may amount to tens of thousands of euros.
The two Eindhoven proprietors were not at home at the time of the inspection. Therefore, they have not been arrested yet, but they will be fined.
