A-41-years-old Eindhoven resident, was sentenced by the court in Den Bosch to 450 days imprisonment, of which 314 days were conditional, for threatening his wife and three children in May last year.
The man suspected that his wife was having an affair. In order to force her to confess, he pulled out an automatic firearm and shouted that he will massacre everyone present.
The courts were planning to imprison the man for a long and unconditional term. This was prevented because the culprit and his family wanted to reunite as soon as possible. Therefore, a long and unconditional prison term was ruled out.
The 41-year-old man will be placed under observation by the correction authorities and will be forced to receive treatment at a mental care institution.
