The police have announced that the body, found in a house at the Ericalaan in Aalst-Waalre last Thursday afternoon, is very likely that of the 66-year-old occupant.
The woman’s body was transferred to the Dutch Forensic Institute in Rijswijk on Thursday evening. There it will be investigated and the identity will be confirmed.
The police assume that the woman was the victim of a crime and, therefore, they are investigating her home. That investigation is certainly going to take several days and the neighbourhood will be sealed off and secured until the investigation has been completed.
Policemen found the body after a concerned visitor had not been able to enter the house. Then the policemen decided to break into the house, where they found the dead woman.
Hardly anyone in the neighbourhood knew the dead woman. People were shocked when they saw two freezers being lifted out of the house. The male occupant has been taken into custody.
