Pedophile Sytze van der V. will no longer be prosecuted for possessing or viewing child pornography. The Public Prosecutor has decided to abandon the case.
Police had confiscated a laptop from Van der V. because they saw children’s faces on it. The 65 year old pedophile appealed against his prosecution.A judge had previously granted Van de V’s appeal as the laptop was only seized because of his pedophile history. The prosecution considers the chance of success with a new court case to be small. Sytze van der V. was convicted in 2009 for sexual abuse of underage boys in Woensel. He was arrested in his cell in April because of new allegations. Van der V. is now seeking compensation for the eight days that he has been in remand in connection with this case.
