EINDHOVEN – The body of a builder buried under a large amount of liquid concrete and building materials during building activities at the International School in Eindhoven (ISE) last Friday afternoon has been recovered.
The body was found between the rubble in the early hours of Saturday morning by the emergency services. The builder has been named as Kees Gloudemans (54) from Heesch.The building collapsed around 14:00 when concrete was being poured on the second floor of the entrance building.He was working there with three colleagues. One sustained minor injuries, another is in the hospital with broken bones. The emergency services had to search for many hours before they found Gloudemans body. Sniffer dogs were used because it was unclear where the man was buried. The recovery teams used diggers and an aerial platform to remove the rubble bit by bit. The construction site where the incident occured will remain closed until health and safety , the public prosecution and the safety board have completed their investigtions.Construction work is planned to continue.
