FRANS FRANSSEN – March 19 to April 24, 2022

From the 19th of March to the 24th of April 2022 you can witness both an exhibition and a working period by Frans Franssen in and around the Albert van Abbehuis in Eindhoven.

The exhibition shows diverse, vivid, old and new work by this atrtist from Eindhoven. Two- and three-dimensional works, figuration and abstraction, small and very large, flat and spatial, inside and outside; they form an unquestionable unity. They are powerful combinations of spaces, often with architectural references. The artist seeks the ideal balance in this. He plays with perception and perspective, at times concealing, at other times revealing.

To what extent do we see what we really see?

Driven by the will to discover, Frans Franssen is also working on a new project within the exhibition space and is trying to open the “Window on the Elusive”.

A new work by Frans starts with a concrete reason or a vague impulse. But the moment the brush touches the canvas, everything changes. The canvas becomes a window through which one can imagine the most diverse dimensions. You wonder what’s behind it all.

This is an exhibition for people of all ages and with all different interests and backgrounds. In addition to the exhibition, a program has been set up with interesting activities, including presentations, Identity tour and workshops by InterCulturas and meetings with the artist himself.

March 22: On Tuesday March 22 from 14.00 – 17.00 – you can register at albertvanabbehuis.com to talk to Frans Franssen about your own work and get feedback, inspiration or exchange of experiences.

03 April: In conversation with Frans Franssen, meet the artist during the exhibition

07 April: Frans Franssen starts his work on a new project and tries to open the “Window on

the Intangible”. Coming back and seeing developments is a must.
