Cathedral, performed at the Parktheater, is a new large production for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, inspired by the music of the world-famous composer Arvo Pärt. The music will be performed live by Sinfonia Rotterdam, thus making this performance extra theatrical and intense. With Arvo Pärt’s spiritual music as his heartbeat, Cathedral evokes feelings about the essence of existence. About the mystery of man in the grandeur of nature and the infinite universe. Morau places the dancers in an equally impressive stage setting with life-size video projections and a spectacular lighting design. The encounter with a meter-high meteor on stage is the enigmatic beginning of a very special dance performance. Plus it is great to see one of the best Dutch ballet companies live!
