Additional research on air quality Eindhoven Airport

An additional study of the air quality around Eindhoven Airport will be performed. The provincial government has declared.

The Brabant SP (Social Party) had requested this. The Executive Council will now plead in The Hague to map the harmful effects of aircraft emissions for the residents of Eindhoven Airport.

The SP also wants the entry requirements for aircrafts tightened, to protect residents better. The province does not want to go that far yet. The Provincial Executive Council will wait for the results of the investigation.

The Cabinet allows Eindhoven Airport to grow over the next five years. That means an increase to 43.000 flights per year from 2020. Local residents believe that the airport is growing too fast, and therefore creating too much inconvenience to the area.
