DAF and VDL Nedcar to go on strike again

DAF and VDL Nedcar are set to go on strike this Friday, with over 800 metal workers expected to put down their tools for the day.

Trade unions FNV and CNV labelled it the "Prosperity Strike 2016", saying workers are unsatisfied with the lack of collective agreement in the industry.

Employees are demanding more flexibility in working hours, increased wages, and more growth opportunities. Strikes will continue until a satisfactory agreement has been reached.

DAF Eindhoven and VDL in Born will go on strike from the first morning service on Friday, January 8th, for 24 hours.

It is not the first strike for either company. Since May last year, more than 36,000 strike days took place at different companies across the Netherlands.
