Drawing festival The Big Draw will start Thursday in Eindhoven.
For four days, children and adults can visit drawing workshops, demonstrations, and exhibitions at dozens of locations across the city. Community centres, shops, healthcare facilities, schools, and the Van Abbemuseum will hold lectures and workshops.
The ‘Centrum voor de Kunsten’ (Centre for the Arts), along with six local schools, will host a big chalk competition at 18 Septemberplein in the city centre.
The Big Draw began 15 years ago in London, before its success took it to other cities in 20 countries, including Berlin, Barcelona, New York, Ghent, and now Eindhoven.
The festival aims to pay tribute to the art of drawing, and emphasise its power as a way of learning, gaining insight, and incorporating knowledge.
