On July 27 two red panda babies were born in Dierenrijk (zoo) Nuenen.
Mother and children are doing fine, said a spokeswoman of the children’s zoo.
The red panda is an endangered species and lives in Asia. The pandas of Dierenrijk are part of the European breeding program for endangered species, the European Endangered Species Programme. It is usual for red pandas to get two young per litter. Last year panda babies were also born. They have been moved to another zoo.
The first ninety days the young ones stay safely in the nest, but in a few weeks, they can make their first steps outside their nest.
