A 28-year-old physicist who worked at the Eindhoven University of Technology appears to be a Russian spy.
The German secret service ran into him by chance during the investigation on a Russian diplomat. The German service discovered that the diplomat and the physicist met each other every month. At those meetings the Russian diplomat gave money to the physicist. In return for this, the physicist would have provided secret information about the research he did.
The Germans tipped their colleagues of the Dutch secret service AIVD, who started an investigation. That led to the withdrawal of his visa and he got fired at the Technical University Eindhoven.
